Bioactive Natural Compounds

The Bioactive Natural Products Research Institute (RI-BioNP) is a center of excellence of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) (ΦΕΚ 3795/1493/12-6-2023), unique in the Balkan region and generally in EU. 

The RI-BioNP is based on established and long-lasting scientific and research interactions of dynamic groups with complementary expertise and specifically in Natural Products Chemistry, Medicinal and Analytical Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology and Medicine focusing on drug discovery.

RI-BioNP has developed a complete workflow supporting all the individual steps of research and development of novel active compounds from basic research to pre-clinical and clinical phases. A branch of RI-BioNP operates on the island of Lesvos (ΦΕΚ 1662/1445/17-3-2023).
